We used to think the human body was self-sufficient.
🥗💦 That as long as we had food, water and air, we could produce everything needed for survival. But this isn’t true!
Microbes do a huge amount of life-supporting work on our behalf. The human body is made up of both human and microbial cells, working together.
The human body is not self-sufficient, it is a ‘social organism’ reliant on a variety microbes for optimal health.
Our bodies are a tiny universe, an entire ecosystem, a rainforest!
